What does ‘Safe Space’ mean? 

We are committed to making our events as safe, respectful, inclusive and enjoyable as possible.  We understand that no space is exclusively safe for all. However, at Bar Publica we hope to offer a clear intention with the following policy that is based on a foundation of reducing risk and preventing harm and to collectively cultivate a safer environment and culture within our bar. The Bar Publica Safe Space Policy aligns with our ethics and beliefs that all people deserve to enjoy our venue space without fear of persecution or harassment.

Bar Publica is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion within our venue, and creating an environment free from unlawful discrimination. We have zero tolerance for violence, racism, transphobia, sexism or other discriminatory language or actions.

A Collaborative Approach

Creating a safe space is about cultivating a culture of respect in order to foster a safe and fun environment. The Bar Publica team’s ultimate goal is to provide inclusive and diverse daytime and nightlife experiences and to create an environment where individuals feel comfortable and protected. Always tell a staff member if you are concerned about yours or someone else’s safety.
